VSCode Extension
Status: Upcoming
The VS Code dashboard client is planned as an alternate frontend for the same dashboard backend.
The intended model is:
- Altruist server runs with the dashboard enabled
- the browser dashboard and VS Code extension both talk to the same
/dashboard/v1/*APIs - the extension reuses the same world snapshot and dashboard websocket concepts
This page stays intentionally scoped to the editor client side. The server-side world and dashboard setup remains documented on the parent Dashboard page.
Planned UX
The current direction is:
- an Altruist icon in the VS Code activity bar
- dashboard navigation in the left sidebar
- summary, worlds, config, sessions, cache, and vault views
- a 3D world panel in the editor area
- the same dashboard-backed world data model as the browser UI
Because it talks to the existing dashboard backend, it is expected to require:
altruist:dashboard:enabled = true- the normal dashboard HTTP endpoints
- the dashboard websocket world stream
Screenshot Placeholders
To replace these placeholders later, save your real images into:
react-router-base/public/resources/dashboard/
These are the currently wired filenames:
dashboard-overview.svgdashboard-world-scene.svgdashboard-terrain-wireframe.svgdashboard-object-inspector.svgdashboard-vscode-extension-upcoming.svg
If you later prefer PNG or WebP, keep the same filename stem and update the extension in this page.
